As a little follow up to my earlier post about my impressionist cake, I wanted to show my impressionist cupcakes.
It wasn’t too long after I did the stack cake, my friend was in LA from out of town, so I wanted to bring her some cupcakes. To make them a little more special, I thought I should decorate some of them. We happened to have lots of colors left over from our Saturday cakes so I figure, do what I know best, and made these van gogh inspired cupcakes.
A few months later, I found out they were having a cutest cupcake contest on marthastewart.com so I entered a few different cupcakes including these. To my surprise, I was one of the grand prize winners! I received martha stewart’s cupcake book, which I highly recommend, and my picture up on the site.
